Justin traN

Born and raised in Oakland, CA, I eventually made my way down to Los Angeles, where I turned something I started doing for fun into a career.

I first picked up a camera back in middle school. At the time, I was just having fun making videos and experimenting with what I could create. I didn’t really know where it would lead, but I quickly realized that I loved telling stories through video. That feeling stuck with me, and I never really stopped making things.

I went on to study Film, Television, and Media Studies at Cal State LA, earning my BA and getting a chance to explore different sides of filmmaking, from production and cinematography to editing and post-production.

Since then, I’ve worked with a variety of clients, teams, and organizations, helping turn ideas into videos that people can actually see, hear, and connect with. My work has ranged from marketing and promotional content to interviews, events, and longer form projects. I enjoy being involved throughout the process, from figuring out what a project needs to shooting, editing, and putting the finishing touches on the final piece.

For me, video has always been about more than just making something look good. It’s about finding the story, understanding who you’re talking to, and figuring out the best way to bring an idea to life.

I’m always looking to keep learning, keep creating, and work with people who have something worth sharing.
